The Wyre API allows enterprises to send cross-border payments for end-to-end delivery in a matter of hours. Wyre transfers value instantly, achieves FX conversions equal to or better than midmarket, and utilizes local banking networks to complete bank-to-bank transfers.

🔥Update: Bitcoin Now Available 🔥

Wyre has implemented Bitcoin into our FX stack. This means it's treated just like another currency in our system.

Selling Bitcoin - Use BTC as your source currency, and specify your conversion/payout currency.

Buying Bitcoin - Use any currency you have available as your source, and specify BTC as the destination currency, along with a one of either a BTC address / Email / Phone / AccountID.

Crypto brokerages leverage our API to get up and running quickly and securely. Taking advantage of our platform to make sure you can focus on all the other mechanics of your platform. We've made it as simple as humanly possible for you to get up and running with crypto!

How it works

Distributing funds with Wyre is a straight-forward 4-step process:

  1. Create a Wyre account here: https://www.sendwyre.com
  2. After account approval, you'll be able to pre-fund your account in order to book FX transfers.
  3. Book an FX rate and programmatically send us instructions on where to send the funds.
  4. Track your payment via API.

Step 1 - Sender deposits funds

After being approved, you have the option to either (1) deposit a local currency into their Wyre account or (2) have Wyre provide them with a local currency credit. The funds will sit on Wyre's system as a local currency balance.

Currently we support deposits and account balance in the following currencies:

  • USD
  • AUD
  • EUR
  • GBP
  • HKD
  • BTC - Bitcoin (Cryptocurrency) - 🔥NEW

You can contact us at [email protected] for further instructions on how to make wire deposits.

Step 2 - Sender distributes funds to recipient

Sender makes a Create Transfer API call to transfer the funds to the recipient. Funds can be transfered to the recipient's local bank account, e-mail address, or phone number.

In order to transfer funds with MassPay, the sender must specify the sourceCurrency as the same currency that they deposited in. See the Create Transfer for details on the parameter specs as well as some examples of different situations.

Once you've made the Create Transfer call, the funds will be instantly available to the recipient.

Step 3 - Real time tracking of fund delivery process

As soon as the sender transfers the funds, we source liquidity on various blockchains to move value into recipient country. From there we convert to local currency and send local ACH transfer to the recipient. Each step of this process is updated via API, with the option of text message or email alerts available.
