Engaging students in collaborative activities
15 days ago by Marc Hall
Thesis editing is made interesting for students through collaboration. While working with their peers, students not only help in marking a thesis but also learn from one another's strengths. Providing peer assessment also helps to sharpen their critical understanding and, perhaps, to catch certain mistakes they would have missed by themselves. Group editing sessions can turn a tedious task into a pleasurable shared experience. Additionally, vocalizing ideas often provides clarity and nurtures well-supported arguments. Working together builds students' confidence, gives them more exposure to editing, and creates better-quality work. Collaboration diminishes the daunting nature of editing theses, making it so much more effective.
