Lotte-Hanhwa ratings KBS N Sports 5-year high 2.41% 4.646% at the end of the 9th inning
Ryu Hyun-jin's return to the Korean Professional Baseball Organization has boosted baseball's popularity, and yesterday's Lotte-Hanwha game reached a five-year high of 2.411% in TV ratings.
The TV ratings for the Lotte Giants and Hanwha Eagles baseball game at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon yesterday (February 2) were the highest in five years.
KBS N Sports, which broadcast the game, reported that the Lotte-Hanhwa game (with Kang Sung-cheol and Jang Jang-ho as commentators) had a viewership rating of 2.411% (Nielsen Korea, based on households in the Seoul metropolitan area), the highest rating for a KBO League regular season game in the 2020-2024 period.
During Hanwha's final at-bat in the bottom of the ninth inning with Lotte leading 1-0, the viewership per minute soared to 4.646 percent, KBSN Sports added.
With manager Kim Tae-hyung ordering a bases-loaded walk-off in the bottom of the ninth, Lotte won 1-0, with closer Kim Won-joong inducing a walk-off hit with his signature forkball to put the brakes on Hanwha's bid for an eighth straight win.
